Meet Jenny
Hi, I’m Jenny. The Gathering House combines just about everything I’ve loved doing over the years.
Before creating it, I spent years working in fashion design and buying, lived in France and Bali, built digital businesses and renovated more houses than I’d probably recommend. Looking back, every chapter taught me something about creating spaces and experiences people genuinely enjoy.
Today, I combine all of those worlds. The designer in me notices the details, the tech side keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, and my love of travel has shown me exactly what makes somewhere feel welcoming rather than just somewhere to sleep.
I work closely with a fantastic network of independent businesses around Buxton too, so whether you’re looking for the perfect walk, somewhere for breakfast, or an activity for your group, I’m always happy to share the places I’d recommend to friends rather than the ones you’ll find on every tourist list.
My aim has always been simple: create the sort of place I’d be delighted to stay in myself, then make sure every guest arrives to find it exactly as promised.

The Gathering House was created because I believe we all need more reasons to gather. Life gets busy, friendships drift, and somehow the group chat never quite becomes a weekend away.
