A place to come together —
without the stress of organising

The Gathering House

For the weekends you finally make happen

The Gathering House - Buxton

When you finally get everyone saying yes to a weekend, you need a place that doesn’t add more decisions.

A calm six-bedroom townhouse in the centre of Buxton, booked as one house for up to twelve adults.

Designed for groups of friends and walking parties who want space, comfort, and privacy without the stress — one proper bedroom each, a big dining table, and an easy walk to theatres, cafés, and Peak District paths.

The bedrooms

Bedrooms that
don’t need negotiating

When you only see each other once or twice a year, you don’t want the weekend derailed by who sleeps where.

Every room at The Gathering House is a real bedroom — no sofa beds, no camp beds, no one in the corner of the lounge.

Lockable doors and a three-floor layout mean early risers and night owls can keep their own rhythm, so groups of friends and walking parties stay comfortable and much easier to organise.

The shared spaces

Space to be together
without feeling on
top of each other

When you finally get everyone in the same place, most of the weekend happens in the in-between moments — slow breakfasts, making dinner together, talking long after the plates are empty.

The Gathering House is set up for that: a big dining table for shared meals, a living area for curling up with a drink or a game, a kitchen that works with several people pottering around, and a small outdoor spot for fresh air after a day in the Peaks. Enough room to be together, without feeling crowded.

Ready to see if the dates line up?

Check availability for your group

Group trips take enough organising without the back-and forth over availability.

Check the calendar for your dates and group size — if the house is free and a good fit, you can either book or just hold the dates while you decide.

WHAT OTHER GROUPS HAVE SAID

In their own words

Perfect for our group of 11. There was enough space, the rooms were comfortable, it was clean and most importantly it was easily accessible for our hike at the Peak District.

Sai

It was spotlessly clean, towels and beds all great condition and comfortable, great showers (always a big plus!) and the kitchen was stocked with all the equipment we needed to feed our group.

Robert

The house was perfect for the 10 of us, spacious, comfortable, and welcoming. Jenny was outstanding with her communication throughout, making everything easy and stress free.

Rashid

The house is fabulous for a group of friends and we had a great time. Immaculate throughout with lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. Great decor. Ideally located for Buxton restaurants and pavilion gardens.

Debby

Very tastefully decorated.beautifully clean and comfortable. In a very good location for amenities. parking was adequate for 2 cars.

A glimpse of where you’ll land and linger

A peek into the spaces you’ll spend most of your time in – the kitchen where everyone ends up chatting, and the lounge where evenings quietly stretch out. Simple, comfortable rooms designed for real groups, not photoshoots.
